"Providing a totally environmental, and friendly service sending, absolutely nothing to landfill"

Why do I have to dispose of my waste electrical?

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (Waste Management Licensing) (England and Wales) Regulations 2006 came into force on 5 January 2007. These regulations cover England and Wales and deal with the site licensing and WEEE treatment requirements of the WEEE Directive. If you visit the Environment website http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/business/topics/waste/32084.aspx, this explains licensing in considerable more detail. The main issue is that all waste electrical has to be recycled and nothing is sent to land-fill.

What licences do I need?

If you dispose of more than 200kgs of monitors, batteries and light bulbs/florescent strips per year, you need a controlled waste management certificate. If you contact the environment agency they will assist you in receiving the right type of permit. If you wish, we can advise and help you obtain one.

What about hard-drives?

We can fully destroy hard-drives or we clean them under US DoD compliancy, however, there will be an additional cost - please call us for further information if you require this service. If we erase the memory on the hard drives it is impossible to recover any data left on it, this also includes any programming etc, such as Windows XP, this would have to be re-imputted and of course at considerable extra cost. We GUARANTEE that any information on any memory based products will be erased or fully destroyed.

What paperwork do I need?

We will supply all the relevant paperwork, This includes licensing and the audit slips when items are removed. Full destruction certificates are issued when the goods are properly destroyed and subsequently recycled. Any items which are recycled as refurbished equipment are audited. We manage a full audit trail for everything.

What happens to everything?

All items are recycled, nothing goes to land-fill. Some equipment can be refurbished. Plastics, glass and metals are recovered and sent to our recycling partner in the North West. Kitchen whites are sent to a recycling charity in Peterborough, serviced and cleaned and resold into the community to help deprived families rebuild their lives.
